Netflix when ill

When you spend a great portion of your time feeling unwell, or when your symptoms are flaring, I find spending time distracting myself from pain or staving of boredom is a must. I work full time and those nights where I don’t feel like doing much I’m not gonna lie, I’m sitting on my arse on the sofa watching tv or playing computer games.

So I’m dedicating this post to purely a few Netflix series that I’ve really enjoyed and why:

The Witcher

My Synopsis – Fantasy Genre based on the books by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, it follows the Geralt of Rivia, Princess Ciri, who’s destiny’s are linked and Yennefer of Vengerberg. It’s a Dark Fantasy where choices are morally grey, and it has magic, monsters and Mayhem

Why I liked it

  • I loved the video game
  • Pure fantasy with darker undertones
  • Great castings for the Characters
  • It’s Funny, (Jaskier the Bard is all I’m saying)
  • Gritty Realism
  • And well……….Geralt (I mean it would be silly to say as a woman that I fancied a fictional charcater but phwoar!!!! And if I didn’t much care for Henry Cavills looks before he makes a perfect Geralt *SWOON)

The Stranger

My Synopsis –  Drama/Thriller When a Stranger tells Adam Price a secret his seemingly perfect life falls away and he becomes entangled in a mystery to discover some shocking answers.

Why I liked it

  • Gripping, and a real edge of your seat watch
  • Fantastic Actors – Richard Armitage, Anthony Head, Siobhan Finneran and Paul Kaye to name a few
  • Location is about hours drive from me – so was nice seeing the North reprisented
  • Lots of twists and shocks

The Good Place

My SynopsisComedy/Fantasy The series follows the main lead Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell) who wakes up in the afterlife, a eutopia for the “good people” who deserve a place in it. She soon discovers something isn’t quite right and the journey follows Eleanor learning to be a better version of herself with her friends.

Why I liked it

  • It’s lighthearted yet profoundly deep all at the same time
  • It is super funny, the characters and the writing
  • A brilliant refreshing concept, nothing else like it
  • shorter episodes and you want to watch more

I could write for hours about things I’ve watched and thoroughly enjoyed, like Happy, Russian Doll, Umbrella Academy – maybe those reviews I’ll do another day.

Why not drop me a comment if you enjoyed these shows and why, or any others you think are really good and maybe I can add them to my watch list.

Forget Netflix and Chill, it’s Netflix when ill
